I am having dry cough from past 10 days. Worst when lying down. I was taking ascoril cough syrup with azithromycin tablets. Not much relief. Please suggest better option.

Dear lybrateuser, - Avoid all cold fluids, have mire of warm fluids like tea, coffee, milk & soup - do warm salt water gargles three times a day if there is pain or irritation in the throat - also avoid exposure to dust, smoke, sprays, avoid fried, spicy, sour & junk food - mix 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder in a cup of warm milk & have twice a day - take tablet levocetrizine, 10mg, 1 tablet daily in the evening - take syrup Benadryl, 2 teaspoonful three times a day - do steam inhalation twice a day - have 7-8 glasses of water per day for proper hydration - do an x- ray chest to rule out any other problem.
