This hormone is required for multiple metabolic functions in the body and for normal functioning of brain. Hence needs to be supplemented every day. With treatment tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l. At which level most of the symptoms are in check. You can not stop the treatment, as it has to be a lifelong one. Thanks.

When one is on treatment with adequate dose of Levothyroxine, TSH is usually maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level, most of the symptoms are in check. Usually after starting treatment initially TSH should be checked after 6 o 8 weeks to see if the desired level is reached. lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Usually hypothyroidism seen during pregnancy goes away after delivery. Therefore if TSH is normal after few weeks of pregnancy then there is no need to take thyroxine tablets. TSH should be with in the specified range. Thanks.

Hello, at 0.19 milli units/l, is just below the lower limit. If the patient is feeling fine, there are no specific complaints then there is no need to do anything. However, if there are any symptoms suggesting hyperthyroid activity, then there may be a need to redcue the dose of thyroxine, by about 12.5 mcg per day. Then check tsh levels after 6 weeks. It's not so easy to titrate your thyroxine dosage without knowing the in's and outs which requires at least 5 years of medical knowledge. Get in touch with a doc to decide rather than messing with yourself.

TSH 0.005 mU/L is is quite low. It can lead to drug induced hyperthyroidism. Therefore, dosage of Thyroxine needs to be reduced. It is better to reduce 25 mcg per day, then check TSH after 6 weeks. Thanks.

It depends on your previous tsh values. If it's the first time you need to check tpo antibodies. If you're asymptomatic I will prefer to leave it aside. However if the antibody test is positive there's a strong chance that you might need thyroid replacement in the future.

Please mention the thyroid function test results (t3, t4 & tsh levels), then only I will be able to give an opinion. Agar aap ko hypothyroidsm hai aur usaka ilaj nahi kiya hai to aap ka vajan badh jayega. Usake saath monthly period ko bhi problem ho sakata hai. Aur baki ke bahut sare symptoms bhi ayenge. So please come back with following detail: weight, height, t3, t4 & tsh levels and any treatment being taken. Thanks.
