Hi, I can understand that there is a dilemma between getting adequate response from medication and getting relief from sexual adverse effects. I believe you have already discussed this issue with your psychiatrist and buspirone might have been added for this reason. If you want to stay on paroxetine, then other potential options are either decreasing dose of paroxetine (provided your depressive symptoms are under control) or adding a different medication such as bupropion or mirtazapine etc. Ins...more

Dear lybrate-user,
lamictal is a mood stabiliser and it prevents recurrent episodes of low mood in the long run.
To lift your mood further, paroxetine and therapy will help. There are few add on supplements too, like same, 5ht, thyroxine, vitamin d, ect. Please discuss your mood and memory problems with your psychiatrist.

You are fooling around with your mental health with these frequent changes in the use of medication. This on/off medication and I assume you are doing it on your own could worsen your condition. Please be consistent and let the doctor decide the dosage and the duration of medications in the future. Anxiety has all to do with fear and your inability (or so you would tend to think) to handle the same. Fear is based on looking too much into the future and imagining things that usually do not tend t...more

Arcalion or sulbutiamine 200 mg is a nutritional supplement which is a derivative of a b vitamin called thiamine. It is used to increase energy in depression and other conditions among other symptoms. It usually take 2-3 days to start working if it is the deficiency of this nutrient that is making you feel this way. I think that you might need a second opinion based on the medications that were prescribed for anxiety and dysphoria i.e. Paroxetine and olanzapine. I hope you can do so online priva...more

Praxotine is a ssri, it will not make sense to add another ssri. Have you tried snri such as venlafaxine. Switching to snri is potential option. Depending on other symptoms such as level of anxiety, adding bupropion is a good option (unless you have anxiety). Trial of small dose of tricyclic or mood stabilizer are also options.

Hello there are multiple ways to augment a drugs benefits. L methyl folate provides for a unique neurotransmitter substrate, which helps you uplift mood. So, if you are 80% better with paroxetine cr, you should discuss about augmentation with low dose antipsychotic medication like quetiapine, aripiprazole. Alternatively, find a good psychologist & take concurrent cognitive behaviour therapy sessions. All in all, any augmentation strategy should show it's benefits in 2 weeks time.
