Gud evening Dr. My father was suffering from shortness of breath whenever he walks few steps. We got check up as there is no corona symptoms. He has undergone some blood test tlc 14.2 rbc 4.5 hb. 12.3 platelet count 398 urea (kinetic, areas) 190 creatinine (modified jaffe kinetic) 3.80 uric acid 9.4 calcium. 9.8 sodium (ise) indirect 125 potassium serum" 6.57 chloride serum" 88 what problem is he facing. How it could be cured. please suggest .i shall be very thankful to you dr.

I did my routine annual health check last week and the results are Urea 42 M/DL, creatinine 0.5, Uric acid 3.7, Calcium 8.5, Phosphorus 4.6, ALP 99, total Protien 6.3,Albumin 3.3, Sodium 138.2, Potassium 4.17, Chloride 107.2, hemoglobin is 9 and GGTP 19. My Liver function test values are within normal except Bilirubin Direct 0.4. I have Benign prostatic hyperplasia and I am taking Tamsulosin (0.4 mg, Dutasteride (0.5 mg) from last 9 months. I go to toilet at least 7-8 times in 24 hours. What could be the cause of elevated urea in blood.

you have anemia definitely and need iron tablets and elevated urea canbe due to the tablet or slowing of kidney function In general, around 7 to 20 mg/dL (2.5 to 7.1 mmol/L) is considered normal. But normal ranges may vary, depending on the reference range used by the lab, and your age. Ask your doctor to explain your results. Urea nitrogen levels tend to increase with age.

Dear doctor, my father's age is 85, for the last 15 days he is suffering with vomitings and unable to pass the urine. Freequently, he stoodup and go for urinals but only few times he passed. At last consult the doctor, he said creatine levels are increased and all fluids levels are went down like potasiuem, sodiuem chloride etc. The doctor administred the cath pipe for 3 days then entire urine was flown down. Doctor also said that my father is suffering with prostate problem need surgery. At last the operation went successful but unable to control the vomitings due to the fluids levels are down as said by the doctor. Now the urine was clear starting with red then now discharging normall urine. He is so weak and unable to walk also his legs and hands getting tighted without support of two persons he cannot walk. Is it the symptom of any paralysis attack. Can I do the electrolyte test to my father? so please suggest good medicines for speedy recovery. At least he should as normal as he could do his own nature works.

See I think any paralysis its merely hypokalemia and hyponatremia go for serum electrolytes and creatinine level. Do surgery of bep. Atleast go biopsy of prostate gland so you can find its bening or malignancy.

Hello, I have been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis last year and I also have diabetes from the last 10 years. Now recently through tests, I got to know that I have acute pyelonephritis. Our doctor has given us antibiotics for 4 days and asked us to do the kft again. I just get the kft reports now and I am attaching it here. Please have a look at this. And help me with what should I do next. However, my diabetes is in control now my fasting glucose ranges between 80- 100 and random glucose level ranges between 140- 150. His current levels are: HB: 9.80 Blood sugar: 108.9 Urea: 150 Creatinine: 6.82 GFR: 8 Sodium: 140 Potassium: 4.5 Chloride: 101 Bicarbonates: 25 Urine Analysis: Protein: 30 Blood CA 25 ery/ul Dr. Suggested to go for HD and fix the fistula in hand so that dialysis can be done whenever needed instead of doing in the neck if any emergency. As of now he is not having any symptoms like swelling, nausea, vomiting, itching. He is taking diet food normally and water in take 500 ml per day and urine output is 750 ml per day. In this condition, kindly suggest how to handle the situation whether we need to start dialysis now or continue with medication. If the fistula fixed now, is there any minimum period to start the dialysis?

The normal level for creatinine in a blood sample is up to 110μmol/l for males (0.11mmol/l) and 90μmol/l (0.09mmol/l) for females. Males have higher serum creatinine levels than females because males have greater muscle mass. As kidney function declines, creatinine and urea accumulate in the blood.
