Dear user, I do not know when you started the treatment which you are taking? You are taking medicines but did you go for counseling? If you want to get rid of over thinking and negative thoughts medicines are not enough, counseling is must. Change your lifestyle, do dome exercises, go for a walk, spent time with your friends, do the things which you enjoy and take healthy diet. My belief is that if you have a good counselor there is no need to medicines or we can reduced them, that depend on th...more

Hello lybrate-user, absence of menstrual period is one of the rare/uncommon side effect of mirtazepine. As you have already discontinued the medication please wait for a month to get your menstrual periods. If you still don't get them consult your gynecologist regarding the same.

15 years is a long duration you will need to take antidepressants and anxiolytics for a good continuous course of atleast 1-2 years and if you have done that course already ,then you may need to have it a bit more longer than 2 years to become symptom free. The medicines that you have listed seem fine take either one prescription of any one doctor you will start feeling better.
But do it sincerely, a continuous intake of medicines is needed no drop outs help.

Yes, these are relapse of depressive symptoms. Since you are diabetic the antidepressant choice may vary this time. Some people have persistent depressive disorder, which frequently recurs. Kindly consult a psychiatrist in person or online and get treated. Good luck.

Praxotine is a ssri, it will not make sense to add another ssri. Have you tried snri such as venlafaxine. Switching to snri is potential option. Depending on other symptoms such as level of anxiety, adding bupropion is a good option (unless you have anxiety). Trial of small dose of tricyclic or mood stabilizer are also options.

Dear Nitin,

All the medications you have been prescribed are approved for depression and anxiety . Your doses may need to be optimized for relief. In addition to medication you should try behavioral activation and cognitive behavioral therapy. Please talk to your doctor about it. Try to stick to one doctor and be very open about lingering symptoms. They will be able to help you out. Get well soon.
