About Meftagesic P Syrup
This is a combination medication which has Mefenamic acid and Paracetamol as active ingredients. It is generally prescribed as a pain killer to treat fever and pain. This syrup is prescribed to women for the treatment of menstrual pain. The drug works best on moderate to mild pain caused due to conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and menstrual pain. Known to be an NSAID, the drug blocks the action of substances that cause inflammation in the body.

This syrup blocks the action of Cyclo-oxygenase (COX) which is involved in the production of Prostaglandins. Your body produces prostaglandins as a retort to certain diseases and injury. This syrup works by preventing the production of prostaglandins and thereby reduces pain and inflammation. The drug is a pain relief medication that selectively inhibits enzyme function in the brain which allows it to treat pain and fever. It activates certain receptors in the brain that inhibit pain signals.
