Best medicine for diabetes is is insulin in both t1 & t2 dm. However, t2 can be contolled quite well by oral drugs along with strict diet control, weight reduction and regular exercise. Mr. Lybrate-user, you have to adjust your diet and do regular exercise so that blood sugar levels are maintained with in normal limits. Consume good deal of green leafy vegetables and salads, permitted fruits about 100 g a day and avoid high calorie foods and deep fried foods.

Yes, it is possible. If the diabetes cannot be controlled with medicines, then insulin is necessary. But if it under control, then it is okay.
Regular exercises especially walking helps to keep diabetes under control.
