Dear Benazir,
All these antidepressants take 2-3 weeks to start action on your mood. They lift the mood at a particular dose. Doctors always start with low dose so that you can tolerate them better. After 2-3 weeks you need to consult the doctor again. No need to go to different doctor. Most of the anxiety drugs will be stopped by the time your mood improves. Depending on the diagnosis, improvement, side effects, psychosocial factors, the duration of treatment may be 6 months or life long. D...more

Dear Priya,
It is nice that you and your doctor are managing to taper the drugs and stop. You will not get any withdrawal with this regime. But if you are unable to face any stress using all the strengths that you have in and around you, you may get into anxiety disorder. Learn to relax and make all stresses as growth opportunities in this corona days.

Hi. It seems you are suffering with anxiety disorder, probably panic disorder which is a type of anxiety disorders.
It's a common problem so you can visit any good psychiatrist in your vicinity.
Ciplar and etizola both are good anti-anxiety but had you been visited a psychiatrist s/he could have prescribed anti-anxiety medicines which could help you better.
Simultaneously I would also advise you to visit a clinical psychologist for relaxation training and behavior therapy.

Reduce by half every two weeks and stop. If you have relapse of anxiety consult a psychiatrist and take proper long term medications. Since you are a mbbs doctor learn about biological reasons for anxiety and address the same properly. Good luck.

This medicine is a benzodiazepine, you can taper and stop, but if it required for a long time, this is not the right medicine, you need to consult a psychiatrist and get ssri or snri groups.

Talk to your loved ones, share as much as you can, and if you don't have anyone talk to yourself, and if you can't even do that, talk to any god in whom you have faith.

Depression needs time to survive, if you make yourself busy enough not even to spare any second, depression would cease to exist.

If your serotonergic balance (transmission) in your mind (brain) is normal during tapering no relapse of symptom would occur, else there might be a relapse and you have to continue. Gradually reducing the medicine will not have withdrawal. Good luck.

Hello, etizolam is a drug to reduce anxiety symptoms. You haven't mentioned about the reason for prescribing.
It is safe to continue for 6 months discuss with your doctor while tapering the doses because it should be discontinued abruptly.
