Suman ji, Thanks for the query.
First thing is what is the need for giving Dexona(Dexamethazone) tablets in a diabetes patient. Because it is a very strong glucocorticoid that has strong blood glucose increasing action. Because of that diabetes control will be upset. Since no other details are given like age of the patient, HbA1c%, fasting & PP glucose levels, reason for giving the steroid what are the comorbid conditions patient has. So no further comments can be made. Thanks.

Dexona is steroid, which has many side-effects and has to be stopped. Practin can be used for a short duration and not years together.

You should never self prescribe! it is very important to reach out to the doctor, explain the symptoms and let doctor make the right assessment.

Yes they are steroids and yes they have harmful effects.. but in this condition to develop the babies fast enough it might have been prescribed....
My advise is to trust your doctor... but if you have doubts then consult another gynecologist with all your case details...

Hi lybrate-user. The injection will be good for your babies lungs, betamethasone is better, but depending on your gynaecologist, even dexamethasone is also effective. I don't know the details of your pregnancy, but with twins, inj will be more likely to be helpful than harmful. Hope you are not diabetic. All the best.
