I have been diagnosed with persuasive thought disorder issue. Anxiety levels up so much that it interferes in my everyday activities. I get increased breathing and palpitations, social anxiety and I just feel like running away. The doctor gave me flunil 20 mg, internal, buspin and trika sometimes. I don't want the chemical treatment as it makes me dependent and is expensive. I want to invest in natural ways and therapy. Please help me out. Also, to add up my boyfriend only keeps giving me more thoughts to think on and then be trapped in the vicious circle but then cz of the attachment towards things owing to the mental health, even if his words get toxic I stay and hamper myself. Help me out. I have scars of blade on my hand I want to get rid of them too, cz they are seeking attention. Help me pls. It's very hard to find a dependable and trustworthy doctor who is interested in getting the patient well and not just make money. I have had bad experiences. Thanks in advance!

Mental health and its treatment is often collaborative work between doctor and client. While medications are recommended for the symptoms you are experiencing, it is also essential that you also undergo therapy. Psychotherapy is beneficial when you want to make changes in your life and help yourself to grow as an individual free from being dependent and anxious about not being able to be on your own. Get in touch with a therapist around you or online. Take care.

Dear client, it is advisable that you meet your prescribing psychiatrist and share your concerns. You may also follow some sleep hygiene trchniques like not using gadgets, tv at least one hour prior to sleep time. Writing a diary entry about your feelings and activity during the day can help you to settle down emotionally before you sleep. Practice shavasana and visualise putting away all your sadness and worries into the air till it goes out of sight. This will help you get better and peaceful ...more

Good day friend. I understand your concerns. I am sure with this long 10 year of treatment, you would have realized that culprit behind problems in your life is your" thoughts" obviously medicine alone can't treatment your problems or rather the thoughts. It need few additional non medicinal treatments like psychotherapy or mindset change techniques, relaxation techniques, lifestyle changes, dietary changes, excercises routine and obviously good counseling guidance. Hi. It seems like there is trauma from your father's death that hasn't been processed. Thepray can give you a safe space to work towards resolving your concerns and make progress towards a healthier future. Please consult with your psychiatrist as your symptoms are not in remission. Stopping with them can exacerbate your thoughts and mood.

I am 46 male with chronic depression over last 24 years, the problem is not depression but severe cognitive problems like very poor short term memory, slow thinking, walking balance problems, slow grasping etc that happened during first episode of Major depression 20 years back. I am currently using 50 mg paroxetine, 300 mg lamictal (helped me a lot) 20 mg buspin to deal with my anxiety and depression to reasonable extent. I used to have excellent n very sharp memory n high degree of confidence before my first major depressive episode, and used to be always topper during my academics. But my sharp memory n fast thinking, confidence levels never returned back even after 24 years of depression treatment. Can anyone suggest add on medication that can effectively improve my short term memory, balance issues while walking, impaired thinking etc. I do puzzles etc n keep myself busy but memory part of my brain is not improving. Pl.suggest medication helps in neuro psychiatry that helps in cognition problems in severe depression cases.

Dear Krishna,
i am not sure whether your sharp memory, fast thinking and high degree of confidence were symptoms of hypomania before this major depressive episode. If it is so, let it not come back, because your judgement may become bad during manic episode.
It is good that lamictal is helping you a lot. Slowly your doctor may reduce your paroxetine and buspin dose. You may feel better.
I would like to assess your cognitive problems before suggesting any medicine.

I had a major depressive attack 15 years back, why I am calling it an attack is it is very sudden and very intense, happened when I woke up one fine morning with complete numbness of brain, severe weakness and loss of balance in walking poor short term memory as the brain got completely numbed. Loss of ability to think clearly, comprehending, grasping and memory severely impaired. Then consulted a psychiatrist who put me on flunil 20 mg and gradually increased to 40 mg along with Evion 400. Gradually there is mild improvement in numbness, but my cognitive issues like short term memory, clarity in thinking, and fast grasping there is no significant improvement. Later I switched to Paroxetine 50 mg, Lamictal 300 mg and Buspin 10 mg (anxiety) and helped me to resolve my fatigue n body pain issues .My major problem is cognitive issues mentioned above not allowing me to function efficiently as my job is mostly cerebral. Kindly suggest any add on medication that can address my cognitive issues.

Dear user. I can understand. Depressive disorder or depression is a neuro chemical disorder. Suicidal tendency is one main symptom of depression. You must be able to distinguish between mental disease and mental disorder. Your problem is a mental disorder. Not a mental disease. These mental disorders are usually treated with a combination of medicines and other means like awareness, meditation, Psychotherapy techniques, life style changes etc. Take care.

I am 24 year old ocdian suffering from ocd from past 10 years though a bit of small to moderate symptoms were present earlier also but they were not as intense as one's life would stop. I was on paxidep cr 62.5 mg for a long time and on oleanz 1.25 mg for 3 months last year in april but they were weight gaining medicine so my doctor prescribed topiramate 25-50 mg .I took it for 14 days and left oleanz as my wt was about 95 kg. I don't know what happened my nature of thoughts completely changed from then. My thoughts had started coming in a slow manner and they were resistant to any therapy I would practice. Also thoughts of guilt and compulsion which had stopped coming long back restarted again. I took paxidep for 5 more months along with buspin 15 mg for few months. But there was hardly any change I noticed in my condition. I realized that the medicines are hardly having any effect on me. So I stopped the medicines for about 50 days and I saw no change in my symptoms after withdrawal also. My doctor was not understanding my situation So I changed the doctor and they changed my medicines and even then my thoughts slowed down much more. Now when I am studying anything l learn is looking same as anything I don't remember. It's almost become impossible to study. My other concern is that my anxiety has fallen down rapidly after that topiramate incident. So What exactly has happened?

Please go for psychotherapy. You deserve to be happier and healthier. OCD is well managed trough psychotherapy. Also download or buy a book called Brain Lock and read it. Also do follow a healthier lifestyle - spend some time outdoors, eat a balanced and healthy diet including lots of water and fruits. These will nut treat you but help in your treatment. You do not have to suffer all your life. All the best.

I am 40 years old female suffering from insomnia for last 10 years and on antidepressants. It was on & off in between but for last 2 years I was it taking any medication & faced withdrawal symptoms. Now last year I tried Homeopathic Med also for 6mths & this February I again consulted my psychiatrist & he put me on paroxetine. After taking 4 days of this medicine I got swelling around Achilles’ tendon with pain so I stopped that medicine. But swelling persists & doc said it’s not because of medicine. He referred me to rheumatologist who told me for ultrasonic therapy. After one month of therapy the situation was same Psychiatrist change my medicine to buspirone & in turn sertraline but both medicines gave me severe pulsating feeling with anxiety. So I stopped those medicines after 3 -3 days respectively. Now I am taking Mirtazapine & clonazepam but I am experiencing pressure creating in my brain. After 2months of this medication now I am getting same tendon pain in my both wrist & both sides of my neck. I have checked all the test (X-Ray, MRI,Doppler ,NCT, nuclear bone scanning RA, CRP, CCP, ESR, VitD,VitB12.) I am really worried no doc & no test is able to diagnosed the problem & my problem is aggravating. I can’t stop medicine as I’m insomniac & if I continue the problem also aggravate I request if any doctor can give me genuine explanation because for last 8 months I hv consulted 100docs & wasted so much money but no use. I felt all docs are waiting for patients to write medicines & making money without any concern about patients health. Very sad situation in our country. I am really tired. If any doc can give me genuine suggestions with little concerned & interest in my problem. I will be thankful for my whole life. Please save me. Thanks.

"for last 8 months I hv consulted 100docs & wasted so much money" this approach is wrong. You should consult only 2 doctors in whom you have trust one psychiatrist and another orthopaedic surgeon or rheumatologist and take treatment as per their advise.
