A scheduled or complicated delivery at the end of one's pregnancy may require a Caesarean Section, also commonly known as a C Section. Conducted by a gynecologist, this kind of child birth method is different from the natural way of delivering a baby. It is a surgical method that can be carried out as an elective method of child birth as well. In this method, the doctor will usually make an incision in he stomach area of the lady and bring the baby out, following which the muscles and the skin will be stitched back together, layer by layer.
There are many women who are ideal candidates for this kind of surgical child birth method. To begin with, if a woman has had a similar surgery for a previous pregnancy with a vertical uterine cut, then she will necessarily have to go through a C Section. Also, if a lady has undergone an surgery in the past that has had to do with incisions in the uterine section, then she will have to go through a C Section birth. Also, complications during the pregnancy, like high blood pressure and other such risk factors could make the doctor go in for an elective C Section.
While this help in planning the delivery, one will also have to go through side effects like a lengthy recovery time following the Caesarean Section.
