Why Balanced Diet Is Important For Us?
Why Balanced Diet Is Important For Us?

Hello, friends. I am Nidhi, a dietitian and founder of Pathya wellness. Pathya, as a name suggests, is a Balanced wholesome diet.

Now, this brings me to the topic, that whenever we discuss the diet or about going on a diet, it is often assumed that we would be eating boring diet food, we would be starving or we would be depriving ourselves. The diet is expressed in hush tots. We avoid talking about diet with our friends or with our parents. We feel being ridiculed or being made fun of. And we have a fear of being discouraged. Why is it so?

We join exercise regime, we join new to an exercise regime. We announce it to the whole world, we tell our friends about the new gym, about the new salsa class or the yoga class.

What is exercise exactly?

It is a physical activity which we are enrolled in. So why do we hesitate to discuss diet?

Diet is nothing but simply eating food. Whatever we eat in our daily routine is our diet. And all of us eat food so why to hesitate to talk on this topic?

To the majority of people, diet is associated with weight loss. It is not so. So what does the diet involve?

One of the factors which diet involve is "Eating mindfully". Being conscious of what we are putting on the plate, what we are eating. It could mean eating in smaller size plates rather than bigger one. It does not really mean depriving ourselves of our favourite food. We can have our favourite food without any hesitation. You can even have your favourite chocolate bar or a piece of cake. But it is necessary to eat these things in moderation and balance it with some other low-calorie diet. So the major points of this factor is;

  • Mindful eating
  • Balancing
  • Moderation

Another important factor which we need to take care of involves, "Emotional eating". Sometimes we associate food with our emotions. Whenever we are happy or sad, we start thinking about food. Food becomes our Soley's provider. And one of the factor we fear going on diet is that we are afraid that our Soley's provider will be taken away from me. That bar of chocolate which we relish will be taken away from us. It need not be so. While dieting, still you can have that chocolate.

Now, how to achieve this? How to be on a diet?

You can follow few easy steps for some time and be confident on the diet and on yourself. Keep the steps in flow and take the final major leap. you will find yourself healthy and better. So, the diet is basically a change in lifestyle. So, it need not be discussed in hush tots, it need not be associated with starvation.

So, eat healthy, eat moderately and drink lots of water. Keep yourself hydrated and just keep moving. These are the few necessary tips to keep "healthier you".

You can contact me through Lybrate or you can contact me in La Pathya wellness at R 274, GK-1.

Thank you.
