Blood cancer/ leukemia: In some cases of leukemia, the patient might experience nosebleed along with other complications.

Treatment method includes proper identification of sinus tract wrt. to its depth, direction and branching pattern. This could be achieved via sinogram or skilled probing. Once the sinus tract has been properly identified, a super specialized medicated thread i.e. Graded ksharsutra  is placed in the tract. The medicine from the medicated thread is gradually released which leads to debridement of the sinus tract which means unhealthy tissue, pus, hairs are expelled out from the tract. The proper and complete debridement of the tract induces healing of the sinus which subsequently heals. Disease in the liver can also cause problems in the clotting of blood. Rarely, cancer in the nose or abnormal blood vessels present in the nose can contribute to bleeding. Another cause of nosebleeds can be high blood pressure, but it is rarely the only reason.
What are the symptoms of nosebleeds?

Nosebleeds usually occur from one nostril. Sometimes, if the bleeding is excessive, the nostril can get filled with blood and it can cross the nasopharynx and overflow into the other nostril and result in bleeding from both nostrils. The blood can also go into the throat and one may spit out blood from the mouth or vomit out blood (hematemesis).
Excessive blood loss can cause dizziness, confusion, lightheadedness, and can also cause fainting. Excessive blood loss from nosebleeds is not very common.

Nose Bleeding - Things That Can Cause It!

Rhinoplasty is a surgery which is performed to work on and reshape the structure and size of your nose. To stop a nosebleed, pinch the soft, cartilaginous part of your nose using your thumb and forefinger. Spraying your nose with a medicated nasal spray before pinching it can help the bleeding to stop faster. Apply pressure for 10 minutes to get results. Check if your nosebleed has stopped after 10 minutes if it s not; apply pressure for another 10 minutes. Nosebleeds usually stop after 10 to 20 minutes of pressure.
Use an ice pack to your nose and cheeks. This will constrict the blood vessels in the nose and stop the nosebleed.
Use a saline- or water-based nasal gel inside your nose to stop bleeding.
Remember not to blow your nose or insert anything into your nose for at least 12 hours after your nosebleed is over.
If the bleeding doesn t stop even after 20 minutes of applying direct pressure, it s prudent to rush to a doctor. He will treat your nose to stop the bleeding.
In a few rare cases, the bleeding is so severe that a blood transfusion is needed, and surgery may be needed to stop it.
