I have a whitish/yellowish thing on tooth which I recently discovered. Is it due to cavity? And if it is what can I do to make it better? I already brush my teeth twice a day.

Hello, somewhere you are lacking in the brushing technique. Yellowish/whitish thing could be plaque. Visit a dentist get your scaling and polishing done. He/she will teach you the proper maintainance. Brush twice a day. Night brushing is important. Floss regularly, rinse after every meal.
