This is a normal problem faced by athletes who have done intensive sports earlier. After leaving the sports, your activity moves from 4-6 hours daily to maybe an hour at max. However the mind and body is used to certain diet items which are heavy and rich in calories. It could be fried items, milk, ghee, dry fruits. You could have them in unlimited quantities when you were an active sportsman, however you need to reduce your diet to match your activity level. This is the KEY problem. You have to bring down your diet to current activity levels. Right now you would need about 1600-1800 calories. It simply means about 3-4 slices of bread in morning. 3-4 Dry rotis for lunch and dinner. Have 3 fruits daily and 3 liters of water. Do at least 60 mins intensive exercise daily. Target a weight loss of about 2-3 kgs per month which is feasible. You will come down to your fit weight level within 1 to 1.5 years. Just focus towards your future goals and start moving now.
