Deficiency of vitamin B12 may lead to neuropathy (tingling and numbness) and megaloblastic anemia (anemia where the size of red blood cell is more). Deficiency of vitamin B12 can be treated orally (Mehtylcobalamine 500 my tablets) or with vitamin B12 injections. Non vegetarian food are rich in vitamin B12. Vitamin D is needed to assist in the absorption of calcium. Vitamin D3 can be treated with injection or tablets (a course is prescribed). Combination of vitamin D and calcium tablets are available. Vitamin D3 is needed to maintain bone integrity. A level be low 20 is deficient and between 20-30 is considered insufficient. Symptoms of vitamin D3 deficiency are generalised - fatigue, weakness and aches/pain. Exposure to good quality sunlight is needed to produce adequate Vitamin D.
