My 4.5 year old son is having a fever for the past 4 days including today, without any other particular cold or cough symptoms. His fever is slow growing and reaching 101 degrees I give him paracetamol. It gets down quickly. He is a very active child even though the fever. He is not complaining about fatigue or chills. The fever recurs with long gaps. I have to give him paracetamol in a 12-14 hour gap only. But I am a bit concerned as it's been 4 days. He has a tooth cavity and a blister in his gum there. Could this fever be because of the infected teeth? Will this get settled without antibiotics? Should I consult with a doc?
