Since last 3 years, whenever I am under stress or there is a important life decision ahead, I am tending to lose awareness for fraction of second frequently. During this fraction of second, I am doing some unusual head jerk movement which is uncontrollable and after this episode I come to know that I did it. It's a bit embarrassing as if this happens in public, I get stares or laughs from the people for this. I saw psychotherapist, she referred me to neurologist, he had my eeg, ecg, brain mri, pft which came to be normal. I am bit lost now. He gave me sertraline which helps for few days, after that again symptoms continue. My episodes are not like epilepsy seizures, they rather very short, repetitive, uncontrollable and when it happens I am conscious. Could any one please guide what's happening with me. Note: before these episodes started 3 years ago, for 6 months I was under extreme stress and pressure due to personal problems.
