I'm 37 years old and pre-diabetic for the past 5 years with HbA1c ranging from 6.3 to 6.5. Recent 2 Hba1C tests scored at 6.6 and 6.8. I'm using no medication so far and since last couple of weeks, doctor started medication with 1mg metformin SR after breakfast and 500 metformin SR after dinner. After two weeks sugar levels FB 124 and PP 173. Now doctor suggesting to go for an anti-GAD antibodies test and it seems to be expensive. Should I go for it? Is it really required?
