Dear doctor, I am having chicken pox from the last 7 days. Now some of my sores are dried up and some are not. So can I have sex with my husband?

Hello lybrate-user, a chickenpox patient is considered contagious untill all the lesions (sores) have dried up, so you may still infect your husband if he comes in contact or close proximity to you. However, if your husband had chickenpox before or is vaccinated against chicken pox then you may come in close contact with your husband. One thing to be very careful about is that during sexual intercourse, the sores may be hurt or irritated which can lead to secondary infection which can complicate things. Hope this helps. Feel free to consult for any further queries. Wish you and your family good health.
