I have a light black line on my fore finger nail. I have always had dark nails since my childhood, my mom also has dark finger nails. I am not sure when this black line appeared on my nail.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. Ridges in the fingernails are often normal signs of aging. Slight vertical ridges commonly develop in older adults. In some cases, they may be a sign of health problems like vitamin deficiencies or diabetes. Deep horizontal ridges, called beau's lines, may indicate a serious condition. Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
