I had infection near vaginal which led to pain near suture area. Doctor advised me to take vh3 suppository (clindamycin & clotrimazole vaginal suppository) for 3 nights. When I read the instructions it was mentioned breastfeeding mother should not use it (1.3 years old baby) & there were lots of side effects mentioned which may lead to various vaginal & uterus problems. So I asked doctor she said I can use it. So I used it. Now pain is reduced but I am afraid that it may lead to some life threatening side effect as I had taken medicine for anal fissure problems before taking vh3. Can anyone tell me will it really lead to such serious problems after few days? How long does the power of this medicine last? Is it harmful to my baby?

Clindamycin and clotrimazole pessaries can be safely taken by breast feeding mothers, when you use it vaginally the medicines do not enter your blood stream and not secreted in milk ,thus not cause any harm to the baby .secondly this medicine does not have any life threatening complications

Only 1% of this drug will be secreted to the breast milk. It won't produce any effect on baby, and that too for only 3 nights. Forget about it and relax.
