Dear Lybrate user, depo-provera has this specific problem to cause amenorrhoea, i.e. Stops menses altogether for sometime. Usually the effect wanes off over 2 years. However, the contraceptive effect is there only for 3-4 months. So, if after taking this injection, you r protected for 3-4 months only. You can use either extra protection, like condoms. Or you can get this injection at interval of 3-4 months. But, it will be better to change the contraceptive method as it clearly seems this is not suiting you. Also, you can consult online for regularization of cycle.
