My 1.5 year baby having chest congestion, so doctor prescribed amoxyclav 3.5 ml twice a day. Baby weight is 8.4 kg. After first dose at night 11 pm, in morning started watery diarrhea and vomiting. Called doctor and he advised to give ondem for vomiting and enterogermina. After this vomiting stopped however baby had 7 to 8 watery diarrhea. He is not eating anything and sleeping only. Doctor asked to give him as much as home made ors and stated baby wil experience this for 2 days. Please suggest on this asap. Thank you.

This appears to be antibiotic diorrhoea. Requires plenty of oral fluids like plain water, ors or electral, rice kanji and milk. Probiotics like econorm powder or enterogeemina. Dehydration is a major problem to deal with. If urination is less, child refusing feeds, frequent watery motions, lack of alertness you should see a child specialist.
