My wife is having hypothyroid from past 6 years and she has been taking thyroid pills (eltroxin 100 mg as per now) with dabur kanchanar guggulu from past 18 days (1-2 pills per day). And other homeopathic treatment for sinus as well. Is it safe for her? Would any side effects take place by kanchanar guggulu? Will there be any gain in her treatment of thyroid? Suggest the best possible treatment sir.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Only appropriate treatment for hypothyroidism is taking adequate dose of levothyroxine every day without fail, that too on empty stomach and nothing to be taken after that for about 1 hour. Other medications including one mentioned have no confirmed role. There is absolutely no clinical evidence. There is not a single double blide comparative clinical trial to show any benefit. Hence, it is difficult to give any opinion regarding that. Thanks.
