I had injured my teeth muscle around the wisdom teeth. After that I am not able to chew food. It is very painful while chewing or sometimes it hurts while speaking. So I went to the hospital for check up. The doctor took the Xray of my teeth and then it was found that I have 31 teeth, and I do not have right lower wisdom tooth. Because of that the right upper wisdom tooth is hurting the lower teeth muscles. So the doctor told me that you need to extract the right upper wisdom tooth. I want to know, is it mandatory to remove this wisdom tooth?

Hi. For long term treatment it's better you should get it removed because with time it will further move down and just the cheek and gums areas as your lower Wisdom tooth is not there. For temporary treatment the sharp cusps of the upper wisdom tooth can be rounded off.
