I have acne on my forehead, cheeks and chin. Sometimes, I get cystic acne too. My skin is oily, so I wash my face with Clean & Clear morning energy face wash (2-3 times) a day. I used Fash face wash and Retino-A as per a dermatologist's suggestion but it didn't help me. Then I used Azythromycin 500 mg tablets along with Retino AC cream on my cystic acne but it darkens the acne spot causing dryness. I also have dandruff, for which I'm currently taking treatment. And on my cheeks, the pores are sometimes large. I use Vicco Turmeric cream and Multani Mitti, turmeric, sandalwood paste to control the appearance of acne but nothing helps much. Any suggestions? I am 25 years old and a little desperate to get rid of my acne. Please Help.

Hi. Cystic acne requires oral tablets for longer periods to get it under control. Please be in touch with your dermatologist regularly to keep your acne under check. Since acne is hormonal it may bother you repeatedly but getting it treated adequately every time is important or else they will leave bad marks and scars. Ideally acne creams are to be applied just one drop for the entire face at night with gentle spreading and no massage. If some creams give you unmanageable dryness or irritation, let your doctor know.
