I am 37 years old male. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia when I was 26. It has been about 11 years now. I am taking Amisulpride 400 mg/day since 2015 when my last psychotic episode occurred. I believe It occurred because I used to take too much alcohol and my medicine simultaneously. Since then I have left taking alcohol permanently (Due to Initiation from a spiritual master. I feel normal which I never felt when I used to take alcohol. Now I want to attempt wearing off the medicine to nil. I feel at-least I should try it once. I have discussed it with my psychiatrist, but he is not willing even to attempt it. I am ready to start medicine again if symptoms start appearing again. Please suggest me future course of action. Should I consult some another doc and start withdrawing medicines under his supervision. I want to try it at-least once. Thanks.
