I have been on zosert 100, voxidep 25, and arzu 10 medicines for more than 6 months in order to stop receiving intrusive thoughts resulting from OCD. Though it can not be denied that they work very well on me, I have decided at present not to take them any more, because I feel that they are responsible for my weight gain. So, I want to ask you, sir/ madam that do they really cause weight gain or is it my illusion? But,if it is true that they really cause weight gain, should I switch to other alternative medicines to prevent myself from gaining weight?

Weight gain can be a side effect of these drugs. Since I am an allopathy doctor, I do not know about alternative medicine. Besides, if weight gain is a concern for u, talk to the treating psychiatrist. He will weigh the benefits and risks of taking/not taking these medicines and will give you the right advice. Even if you r going to continue these drugs, you can do necessary dietary changes to avoid weight gain Cut down all refined and added sugars Eat nuts and seeds, lentils and legumes everyday Stop eating junk Exercise everyday as that helps in maintaining the weight.
