Hi Exercise alone is not sufficient to lose weight. You will have to change your diet as well. Stop eating refined foods and added sugars for a week and check whether there is any change in weight.

The Best Anti-Aging Foods

The Best Anti-Aging Foods

Why should you eat tomatoes?
Tomato is super rich in nutrients which should be consumed regularly. Do you know that it's called a “Functional food”? It's a fruit which is more than a ‘nutrient provider’. It has a miracle chemical-’Lycopene’ which does wonders to skin.

What is Lycopene?

  1. It's a unique carotenoid which has powerful anti aging effect.
  2. Lycopene and skin health: Skin can be damaged due to UVrays and oxidative chemical reaction in the body.
  3. Lycopene has UVrays blocking capability and it also counters the oxidative damage to the skin through its antioxidant mechanism.
  4. It has the ability to reduce cell inflammation, facilitates cell renewal and protects DNA from damage.
  5. It enhances the connectivity between cells and noticeably improves the skin texture, thus keeping your skin looking young.

Lycopene- a free radical scavenger Free radicals contribute to the aging of skin.

  1. The fact that Lycopene is concentrated in the cell membrane, makes its free radical scavenging capacity a powerful anti aging tool.
  2. This helps in maintaining the cell integrity, thereby preventing the entry of any toxin.

Lycopene- a collagen protector

Collagen is a protein which is essential for wrinkle free skin.
Lycopene protects the collagen from collagenase- a collagen damaging enzyme, thereby preserving the integrity of skin to keep it free from sags and wrinkles

Is raw tomato a good source?

  1. The amount of Lycopene available to body is less when compared to cooked tomatoes.
  2. The cooking process increases the bioavailability as it releases the Lycopene from the indigestible fibre.

What are the other sources of Lycopene?

  1. Papaya
  2. Grapefruit
  3. Watermelon

Hi There is actually no requirement for protein supplements if you eat real natural foods rich in protein. If you are a vegetarian, I recommend you to rely on real foods like lentils, beans and legumes. Have them after your work out. If you don't have access to these foods, then you can have ready to drink protein shakes. There are some controversy about whey protein. You can try pea protein/ brown rice protein.

Hi If you have been losing weight inspite of eating well, you should check for thyroid levels. If there is change in appetite and feeling tired, then I advise you to check with the physician close to your place. If everything is ok, then you need not worry. Focus on the right diet, good sleep and physical activity. Eat three good balanced meals rich in nutrients. Eat when you are hungry. Any diet you eat should be rich in micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. Sample plan Breakfast- Egg omelette Apple & banana smoothie Dry grapes Lunch Rice Dal Vegetables curd Snack Guava smoothie Dinner Roti Rajma gravy Banana Brisk Walking 30 minutes every day.
