I had wet cough last week and then I consulted a physician and had medicine for 3 days. On third day in the morning I started having laboured breathing and then the problem got worse as I was literally struggling to breathe. I was rushed to hospital and I was there for about 8-9 hours and I had oxygen mask on nearly for 6-7 hours. There in the hospital I went through 1.Chest xray 2.E.C.G scan 3.C.T scan, but all the tests came well I had no problems as far as tests are concerned. Then I got nebulizer and till now I am taking nebulizer thrice a day. I have stopped eating any fried food and now I drink only warm water. It has been almost 8-9 days since this cough problem started but I am still having medium cough (wet) now though the breathing issue had stopped. Can you help me out?

Your symptoms are suggestive of a severe attack of wheezing bronchitis. Nebulization helped. The residual cough can be treated with a bronchodilator + mucolytic + antihistaminic cough syrup.
