I suffered from bipolar disorder and took tablets for sme 5 yr. Then I got fedup and stopped tablets valunterly frm past few months. Now am trying to control my mind doing some meditation, yoga. I think. I am okay now. My question is is it possible to come out of thz type of mental illness by training ourself permanently that too without medication?

In remission persons with Bipolar disorder function perfectly well. But they are advised to continue mood stabilisers even during periods of normalcy to reduce further episodes, and overall well being. Else the long term outcome is poor, according to the guidelines of bipolar treatment. Yoga is a healthy practise but does not alter the course of bipolar illness in a positive or negative manner. All the best.
