Hello. In pregnancy, approx how much weight should be gained from actual pre-pregnancy weight in every month? Secondly is it common to have hand fingers swelling during second trimester? One last query. Is it common to have fever after taking TT injection?

1 kg weight gain is normal from 4 th to 9th month of pregnancy every month, so roughly a weight gain of around 6 to 8 kg is fine during the entire term. Swelling in fingers is largely due to elevated urea, uric acid etc so keep a check on this by getting these tests done, fever usually doesn't happen after inj TT, unless the inj site gets swollen or infected.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. During pregnancy about 12 to 14 kg weight gain may occur till full term. Some swelling of feet and legs and hands may occur. Please check your BP and see if it has gone up. Thanks.
