Brex Syrup

Brex Syrup belongs to a class of drugs known as nasal decongestant. It is used in the treatment of common cold, allergies, hay fever and flu. It provides relief to the nasal passage by shrinking the blood vessels. Brex Syrup is therefore used in sinus and nasal congestion. It is sometimes also used to treat urinary or stress problems.

On using Brex Syrup you may experience side effects such as a dry mouth, headache, nausea, constipation, stomach upset, dizziness and drowsiness. Certain severe reactions include seizures, hallucinations, irregular or slow heartbeat and difficulty in breathing.

Before using Brex Syrup, have a word with your doctor and tell him/her if you have a history of heart, diabetes or thyroid disorders or high blood pressure. Also tell your doctor if you’re pregnant, are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby.

The dosage for Brex Syrup should ideally be prescribed by your doctor. The medication comes in a tablet and solution form. Usually the dosage for adults is 30-60 mg (tablet or solution) every 4-6 hours. Should you suspect a drug overdose, seek medical attention right away. Symptoms of drug overdose include increasing blood pressure, breathing trouble and convulsions.

Brex Syrup works on alpha adrenergic receptors to a great extent and alpha adrenergic receptors to a lesser extent. This drug stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors and de-stresses bronchial smooth muscle, thereby ameliorating the symptoms of nasal/sinus congestion.

Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.
