Voice disorders are of several types, each of which affect the mechanism of speech. They are classified into three broad categories- organic, functional and a combination of the two. Organic voice disorders are of two types, structural and neurogenic. In case of the structural voice disorder, the structure of the vocal cord is affected and in case of the neurogenic voice disorder, the nervous system is affected.
