School refusal can be defined as a condition where children refuse to go or remain in school. It is characterized by frequent urination, racing heart and hyperventilation, disobedience, anxiety and lightheadedness. The fundamental cause being that the child is anxious with coping with a new environment or a stressful life event. Parents are required to provide proper support and if that does not help, mental health counsellor should be consulted.
