Meningiomas are tumors that occur in the meninges-the protective membranes that sheathe the central nervous system. They are typically benign and asymptomatic and require no treatment except regular observation. For the small percentage that do require treatment, both conventional surgery and radiosurgery are presented as treatment options.
HOW IS MENINGIOMA DIAGNOSED?
There are no specific causes for the occurrence of meningiomas: they appear to be mostly random.
