The visible signs on a person's body that are present from birth or develop shortly after birth are known as birthmarks. Birthmarks appear due to several reasons like abnormal growth of blood vessels, fat, smooth muscle, fibroblasts, melanocytes or keratinocytes. They can be in various forms such as small patches or moles. While some birthmarks may disappear with age, some might worsen and cause bleeding, pain, itching sensations and infection. Birthmarks can be treated completely.
HOW IS BIRTHMARKS DIAGNOSED?
Even when no other form of identification is present, a body can be identified by a birthmark.
