Ascariasis is a common infection, which is named after the ascariasis eggs. These eggs are the main reason for roundworms to develop in the body. An alternate definition for ascariasis can also be an infection caused due to the presence of roundworms in the body. This condition spreads if you come in contact with contaminated food, water or soil which is exposed to human excreta. The condition has no predetermined symptoms as such but heavy infestation of roundworms in any body part may lead to harmful outcomes.
HOW IS ASCARIASIS DIAGNOSED?
A female ascaris worm can produce 2,40,000 eggs a day.
