Lybrate-user, if you are on treatmnent with thyroxine tablets, then tsh should be between 3 to 4 milli units/l for complete symptoms control. In hypothyroidism there is no cure. Treatment has to go on for life time. If tsh levels are not maintained as mentioned above then efforts to reduce weight will not be benefiial. So first get that right. Thanks for the question.

Hello mam, kindly follow these basic tips for loosing weight: * take short meals at frequent intervals. * do not skip meals * drink plenty of water (3-3.5 litres water per day) *avoid aerated drink * take fibre rich foods like fruits, raw salad, wheatbran, oats, brown bread, brown rice. *do early dinners (7; 00-7; 30 pm)

In hypothyroidism eat as iodine -rich meals, banana, intake at least 8 glass of water in day. Eat more fiber rich foods, coconut oil, green tea, tyrosine -rich foods, low fat milk, avoid soya - products, avoid spicy and oily foods. Go for walk daily, do exercises---yoga. It help in reducing over weight. Thyroxine medicines used in hypothyroidism.

it is only needs if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy otherwise take iodised salt in unripe form in salad and fruits recheck after 3 months
