Dear lybrate user. I can understand. There are no effective medicines to directly quit smoking. These medicines manage your anxiety and restlessness related to withdrawal. Deaddiction therapy is more suitable. You can also use nicotine gums for intermittent usage so as to help in quitting smoking. Take care.

Hello lybrate-user. Most important to quit smoking is your will power. Avoid any peer pressure. You can try nicotine gums if you want. They will help you with the cravings .it is not easy but possible. Get a calender and keep marking the days from the time you quit. Do not give in to cravings and you can use nicotine gums when required. Reward youself positively every once a while for quitting smoking. Tell your friends and family about your plan and ask for their co opeartion too. If your still...more

Dear Lybrate user
Yes therapy has provided great results in any kind of addiction. Addiction is psychological and thus psychotherapy is supposed to be taken. I have had many clients who have got rid off their addiction. As there are some causes for any addiction and until and unless those causes are not resolved the addiction will not go away. Thats the reason many people get addicted again after they come back from deaddiction centers.
You can contact me for more information.

Distract yourself. Do the dishes, turn on the tv, take a shower, or call a friend. The activity doesn’t matter as long as it gets your mind off smoking.
Remind yourself why you quit. Focus on your reasons for quitting, including the health benefits (lowering your risk for heart disease and lung cancer, for example), improved appearance, money you’re saving, and enhanced self-esteem.
Get out of a tempting situation. Where you are or what you’re doing may be triggering the craving. If so, ...more
