Dear lybrate-user, tsh of 3.87 in pregnancy is a borderline high value. I suggest that you repeat a tsh after 1 month and tpo antibodies and let us know so that we can decide if you need thyroxine during pregnancy

Hello, thanks for the query.
Madam I have seen the details given. Please understand that hypothyroidism is a hormone (thyroxine) deficiency disorder, which means your thyroid is either unable to produce the said hormone or is producing very little quantity. This hormone (t4) is required every day in our body for maintaining a number of metabolic activities like maintaining body temperature, heart rate, energy levels, skin texure, normal menstrual cycles, and many more functions plus maintain...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the query. The information is incomplete. You have just mentioned tsh level, which below the lower normal limit. But there is no information on t3 & t4 levels. Tsh is directly linked to the levels of these two thyroid hormones particularly t4 (thyroxine) which is secreted that gland. Lower level means there is an excess secretion of t4. Plus usually there are quite a few associated symptoms wit that. Unless all the necessary information is given there...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
The information is rather incomplete to give any specific suggestion. It is necessary to know what is the t4 level. Plus are there any symptoms that you have connected to the rise in tsh? Better if you come back with all the necessary information. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details mentioned. You have mentioned about having hypothyroidism and are on treatment for the same with 75 mc levothyroxine. Usually if one takes adequate dosage of levothyroxine hen t4 & t3 hormone levels are quite normal (with in specified normal range). However, since your tsh has gone to 8.1 mu/l, suggesting the earlier dosage was inadequate. If you have changed the dosage to 75 mcg (since when is not mentioned), tsh level may come do...more

Your t3 and t4 values are normal and tsh is only mildly elevated. It appears that you may only have subclinical hypothyroidism. This needs only follow up. You do not need thyronorm now. Recheck tsh and tpo antibodies after 6 months and revert back to us professor m s seshadri.
