If the pain is intolerable take pain medicines prescribed by a local doctor. Walk regularly. Maintain a healthy weight. Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits. Drink plenty of water and fruit juices. Do stretching and strengthening exercises for quads and hamstring muscles around the knee joint. Approach a physiotherapist to help you out with the exercises. When all this do not help opt for total knee replacement.

It's a part of aging and I will suggest you to eat freshly prepared home made food and avoid pickles and papads in your daily diet and drink a minimum of three litres of water per day and exercise regularly and if you follow this you can avoid osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA), which is also known as osteoarthrosis or degenerative joint disease (DJD), is a progressive disorder of the joints caused by gradual loss of cartilage and resulting in the development of bony spurs and cysts at the margins of the joints. The name osteoarthritis comes from three Greek words meaning bone, joint, and inflammation.
