Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Any drug which is prescribed or taken has a huge list of possible side effects and some unwanted effects. But these are hardly noticed. Metoprolol is extensively used in controlling high BP and other heart related issues. People have been taking it for ages. Thanks.

Hi lybrate-user, in ayurved we consider it {tachycardia} to be because of vata aggravation. You must take a vaat pacifying diet. Take non spicy food, avoid tea/coffee/ addiction if any. Take lukewarm water daily esp in the morning and in the evening. Take saunf + ajwain after meals. If still uncontrolled, then better to opt ayurved.

All advanced treatments are not done with laser, you have been advised radiofrequency ablation (EPS + RFA), not laser. RFA is very effective and safe, when done in well established EP centers. But, SVT is not a dangerous disease, there is no risk to life even if there are repeated attacks. So decide on basis of symptoms, do not be scared that SVT is heart disease, so it is life threatening, SVT is just a nuisance, it is not dangerous.

Tachycardia refers to a high resting heart rate.
In general, a resting adult heart beats between 60 and 100 times per minute. When an individual has tachycardia, the upper or lower chambers of the heart beat significantly faster.
When the heart beats too rapidly, it pumps less efficiently and blood flow to the rest of the body, including the heart itself, is reduced.
Because the heart is beating quicker, the muscles of the heart, or myocardium, need more oxygen. If this persists, oxy...more
