Hello Lybrate user. Brown spots or dark spots over the tooth have many reasons. Sometimes the deposites are very dark and they appear brown.
The extrinsic or the stains caused by external factors are removed by scaling and polishing. Whereas the intrinsic stains remains as it is. It would be best if you share an image. Because it will confirm the cause of stains and will be able to treat it in a better way.

Hey there, these do not seem like stains but cervical caries.
These develop by using hard tooth brush or wrong brushing technique or poor gum health.
You need to visit your dentist for needed restorations. Kindly use a soft / ultrasoft tooth brush and brush twice daily. Do not brush vigourously and apply pressure while brushing. Go in for scaling.
For any query kindly use my doctor code gm2c5d.

Hello
brush twice daily
warm salt water rinses would be helpful.
Rinse after every meal to avoid deposition.
Get scaling done by your dentist everytime you notice deposits and feel the need to get your teeth cleaned. Make sure to give a gap of 6-8 months between your scaling session.
Hope this helps.
