Dear Lybrate user. First forgot the cost of treatment. You have "flat foot" and also suffers ankle sprain. I think you follow physio at your home. Then regularly do physio ex's.otherwise you just go to clinic / hospital at regularly follow instructions strictly.in my experience "any type of ankle injury will completely cure by physical therapist. Don't be worry.

Rest prevents further injury and avoids stress on already inflamed tissue.

To treat a swollen ankle or leg at home, remember the acronym rice:
rest. Stay off your ankle or leg until you can get to the doctor or until the swelling goes away.
Ice. Put ice on the swollen area as soon as you can for 15 to 20 minutes. Then repeat every three to four hours.
Compression. Wrap your ankle or leg snugly, but be sure not to cut off circulation. Support stockings may be an option.

The plaster has to be kept for 4- 6 weeks without removing it. And also if it pains still then it is advised not to move putting weight on the injured ankle. You should use mcr chappals and also pop cast shoes which will help you not to weight bear on the injured ankle. You can also try ankle brace. I had a fall from stairs on 6th may. I fell on my back, left shoulder, left thigh were the impact areas along with both ankles being hurt. I could feel the maximum impact on left thigh (back side) and both ankles. Had difficulty in walking, but could manage. Had problem sitting, so used to sit with weight mostly on right side. Swelling on left hip, and ankles. 8 may- saw a blood clot of palm size on back of left thigh. 9 may- got xray done on both ankles & hips - all clear. 10 may - consulted an ortho online, who checked xray, recommended flexon tab for 5 days. And suggested cold packs. By 20 may I could start walking but still issues in sitting, could only walk slowly, could not lie down on left side, ankles still hurt. I feel my legs are exhausted by end of day. The clot disappeared but I feel my muscles (back of left thigh) tearing every time I sit. Ankles get a bit swollen by night. Pls advise - its been a month, I still kep changing my positions from sitting to walking to lying down. Left thigh muscles (back) feel like burning/stretching/tearing when I sit.

It can be a case of spinal nerve injury.
Avoid weight bearing, bending forward, sitting on ground or squatting.
Take cap. Pregaba-m, once daily after dinner for 1 month.
Consult a physiotherapist.
For better appreciation, mri ls spine can be considered.

Check whether there is still redness in the skin at times the blood clot remains in the area where the injury had happened many weeks / months ago. This leads to ischaemic changes and the oxygen in the area is totally diminished which is the reason when the thigh is pinched it leads to vascular insufficiency which makes your brother to have headache.
