Sulfasalazine won't start to work immediately, and it could be at least 12 weeks before you notice any effects. You shouldn't take sulfasalazine if you're known to have an allergy to salicylates. Salicylate is a natural chemical that is found in some foods.

The swelling usually subsides by itself, but a scar may form that affects your vision. Advanced keratoconus also may cause your cornea to become scarred, particularly where the cone is most prominent. A scarred cornea causes worsening vision problems and may require cornea transplant surgery.

Windswept knees refer to the appearance of a bilateral knee joint deformity where one knee is in valgus and the other is in varus. The name describes the position of the knees if the wind blew across the legs of a patient, causing this evocatively-named appearance.

Crossed eyes occur either due to nerve damage or when the muscles around your eyes don't work together because some are weaker than others. When your brain receives a different visual message from each eye, it ignores the signals coming from your weaker eye.
