Dear user osteoporosis is silent killer as it can cause fracture of spine, hip even with simple fall. Your mother should regularly take calcium and vitamin D 3 supplement along with food such as milk, curd, Almonds, raisin etc. These things will also reduce her joint pain.
She need to do simple exercises also to reduce pain for which you should consult nearby Physiotherapist.
