Hi, my wife has 7 month pregnancy and in sonography seen single umbilical artery. Please suggest me?
normally there are 2 arteries and 1 vein and vein carries oxygenated blood to fetus and arteries get deoxigenated blood back to placenta to be sent back to mother for oxygenation
look carefully for other congenital defects which can be associated along with one artery but it's not must.
get ultrasound done at all stages of development of the baby
good luck
