Its not dangerous but discomforting for sure for a woman. Anesthetizing agents or ice applied directly to the genitals may numb the area and relieve symptoms. Physical therapy focusing on the pelvic floor is another option. In some cases, surgery to correct nerve issues is helpful. periclitoral botulinum injection has been another option which is being tested.
